As may as 9.35 lakh candidates will sit for the Jee-Main exam which begins on January 6.
The exam will be held from January 6 to 11 for admission to engineering institutes across the country including the National Institute of Technology (NITs).
JEE Main also acts as a qualifying test for candidates who wish to sit in JEE-Advanced for admission to IITs.
According to the National Testing Agency (NTA), which conducts the exam, a total of 9,35,741 students had registered for JEE Main 2019 exams for BE/BTech courses and 1,69,767 students had registered for the B Arch/B Planning courses.
JEE-Main is one of the sought after entrance tests in the country for engineering aspirants. It is held twice a year — January and April — and is conducted in computer-based mode.
The number of questions has been reduced from 30 to 25 (each subject), and out of the 25 questions, 20 will be multiple-choice/objective, and 5 will be numerical questions.
