Balancing between motivation and discipline, Modi says discipline is the key and inspiration only adds to it

NEW DELHI: The second video under the ninth edition of the Pariksha Pe Charcha (PPC) with Prime Minister Narendra Modi livestreamed on January 9.

In the video released on the Ministry of Education’s YouTube channel, Modi said, “Good teachers focus on comprehensive education, both academically, professionally, and socially.” For instance, a bowler has to focus on all-around preparation to excel in the exam.

Here is the key take aways from the second session of the ninth edition of Pariksha Pe Charcha.

During his interaction with students from Tamil Nadu, the Prime Minister asked the students to share their views to start a conversation.

Referring to startup ecosystem, he said small work also comes under startups, adding that anyone can start a startup at any moment.

Reiterating the importance of balancing between passion and studies, Modi said both are important. He guided the students on how to mix chemistry and the arts. “You can draw a lab and test tubes, name them and colour them. This way, you will be able to learn the concepts and get hands-on arts too,” he said.

Saying that Viksit Bharat 2047 goals are paramount, Modi said, “If we want to be like a developed country, we have to behave like people of developed countries. We should not throw garbage, nor throw leftover food. If I buy local products rather than foreign ones, we can contribute towards Viksit Bharat.”

Balancing between motivation and discipline, the PM said that in life, both are important. “Discipline is the key, inspiration only adds to it,” he said.

PM Modi also spoke to students from Chhattisgarh and talked about traditional food items like Kurmi and Thehtri.

When a student asked the PM which places they should visit after the board exams conclude, PM Modi said students should visit their state by train along with home-cooked food.

“Whatever you read is not a waste. It remains stored in your mind,” he said.

Talking about leadership, he said that to be a leader, the mindset should be developed to take initiatives. “A good leader should communicate ideas clearly and effectively,” he said.

PM Modi also spoke to the tribal students from Gujarat.

Asked how to handle stress, PM Modi said, “Stress is always before the exam, not after the exam. Always write answers, not read. If you read this way, you will not be stressed.” The Prime Minister emphasised the importance of adequate sleeping hours to get fresh ideas.

“Don’t be impressed by success alone. Learn from the humble beginnings of the great people. Let the success make a loud noise alone,” he said.

Addressing the students from Assam, PM Modi spoke about competing with self.

Asked what diet students should eat to perform better during the exams, he said, “Diet should not be medicine. One should do breathing exercises once a day.”
