New Delhi: The Class X and XII board exams, which were suspended due to the COVID-19 threat to the students, are likely to be conducted in the first week of May.
Secretary of Human Resource Development (HRD Amit Khare on Tuesday said that the central government had already prepared an alternative academic calendar for the exams.
The government will start conducting the withheld board exams as soon as the situation normalises.
“We have an alternative calendar for board exams ready with us and, as soon as the lockdown is lifted, we will go ahead with the exams. According to our calendar, we are ready to conduct exams from May 1, if the lockdown is lifted by 14 April,” he was quoted as saying by The Print.
While the COVID-19 pandemic had led to cancellation of board exams across the country, the students of Classes I-IX and Class XI were promoted to higher classes without any examination.
