Plea For Cancellation Of Offline Board Exams Trashed By Supreme Court

New Delhi: Supreme Court dismissed a plea that sought cancellation of offline exams for Class X and XII set to be conducted by all state boards, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), ICSE and National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) on Wednesday.

The top court said these sorts of petitions are misleading and give false hope to students.

The class X and XII students from over 15 states filed the plea seeking an alternative assessment method for the upcoming board exams. In 2021, the CBSE, CISCE, other state boards chose to evaluate students based on alternative assessment criteria.

The CBSE has announced the dates for class X and XII term 2 exams. The term 2 exams will be conducted from April 26. Meanwhile, the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) is expected to hold the ICSE Class X and ISC Class XII exam in April last week. The detailed timetable will be announced soon.
