Plus II Students Hit The Streets In Odisha Demanding Exam Cancellation

Bhubaneswar: Plus II students on Monday staged a demonstration at the Lower PMG Square in the Odisha capital, reiterating their demands for cancelling the annual examinations.

The agitating students under the banner of the Naba Nirman Yuva Chhatra Sangathan took out a rally from the Lower PMG Square to the State Assembly, which they had a face-off with the police. Some of the students were reportedly taken into custody.

Talking to mediapersons, the students said that School and Mass Education Department had postponed the annual examinations in view of the COVID-19 pandemic. If this continues, it will become difficult for them to pursue higher education and therefore, the state government should cancel the examinations.

The Plus II students had staged a demonstration in the city on April 22 over the same demand.
