New Delhi: The Ministry of Education has issued a letter to all the centrally-funded universities, asking them to postpone the offline examinations scheduled for the month of May this year, for the safety of the students.
The ministry issued the order after several students raised their voices against the conducting of physical exams in the middle of the pandemic. The Education Ministry has further said that online exams can be conducted by universities.
The ministry has asked institutions to encourage eligible persons to get themselves vaccinated and ensure that everyone follows COVID -19 appropriate behaviour to remain safe.
In the letter addressed to the heads of centrally funded universities, Higher Education secretary Amit Khare said the decision to conduct the examinations in offline mode will be reviewed again in the first week of June 2021.
