Bhatinda: In a list of top scientists of the world, V.K. Garg, a professor in the Faculty of Department of Environment Science and Technology at Central University of Punjab, is among the top two per cent of Indian scientists in Environment Sciences, reported India Education Diary.
A team from Stanford University, led by Dr John PA Ioannidis, prepared the database on the basis of basis of standardised citation indicators, in which Prof Garg is ranked 698th worldwide, and 15th in India, amongst the top scientists of Environmental Science discipline.
In a tweet, Dr Ramesh Pokhriyal, the Union Education Minister congratulated Garg for the achievement.
Prof Garg has published around 157 research papers with 13500 plus citations, and his MOOCs course on ‘Solid and Hazardous Waste Management’ (SWAYAM), is rated among the 10 outstanding online courses of the year 2020.
