Ropar: Professor Rajeev Ahuja has been appointed as the new director of the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Ropar, according to an official statement issued on Friday.
Ahuja took the charge from Officiating Director of the institute, PK Raina, the statement said.
The tenure of a director is five years from the date of joining the institute. The institute’s previous director, Sarit K Das completed his full quota of five years.
Ahuja, who is one of the most highly cited researchers, is a professor of computational materials science at Uppsala University, Sweden, the statement added.
