The Rajasthan Government has announced that it would provide free air travel to meritorious students of State-run schools if they top the class-X and XII Board exams.
The free air travel would be provided to the meritorious students as an encouragement to continue to excel in academics, Education Minister Govind Singh Dotasara was quoted as saying by newe wire IANS.
Dotasara said the Education Department officials have been briefed and directed to take necessary action.
The extra-curricular activities of the students of Class-X and XII should also be a criterion for their selection for the free air travel under the scheme, added the minister.
The Minister said inter-state travel under the scheme would expose them to the diverse culture of our nation.
Through this initiative, children who do not come from a financially strong background, can travel across India, he underlined.
