Recruitment Process Begins For 815 Posts In Odisha Adarsha Vidyalayas; Check Direct Link To Apply

BHUBANESWAR: The Odisha Adarsha Vidyalaya Sangathan (OAVS) has released the recruitment notification for 815 regular posts of principals and teachers across Odisha Adarsha Vidyalayas (OAVs) and Odisha Mining Adarsha Vidyalayas (OMAVs).

The application window is open and the deadline to submit applications is November 11, 2026.

Eligible candidates can apply through the official portal at oav.edu.in, say the authorities, adding that applications sent through other channels will not be accepted.

Vacancy details

The recruitment drive aims to fill 815 posts.

• Principal: 105 posts
• Post Graduate Teacher (PGT): 101 posts across subjects including English (8), Physics (19), Chemistry (21), Biology (9), Mathematics (30), and Computer Science (14)
• Trained Graduate Teacher (TGT): 362 posts total across subjects including English (140), Odia (17), Mathematics (63), Science (36), and Social Studies (65) (along with minor allocations for Hindi and Sanskrit)
• Art Teacher: 87 posts
• Physical Education Teacher (PET): 60 posts
• Computer Teacher: 70 posts

Additionally, 32 seats have been reserved for Persons with Disabilities (PwD) spanning various functional disability categories.

Eligibility Criteria

Academic qualifications: Candidates applying for Principal and PGT roles must hold a Master’s degree with a minimum of 50% marks (45% for reserved categories like SC, ST, SEBC, and PwD) alongside a recognized B.Ed. degree.

TGT applicants need a graduation degree and a B.Ed. or integrated B.A./B.Sc. B.Ed. with matching percentage requirements, alongside qualifying TET (OSSTET/OTET Paper-II or CTET Paper-II).

Age Limits (as of January 1, 2026):

Principal: Between 32 and 50 years.

Other posts: Between 21 and 42 years.

Relaxations: Upper age limits are relaxed by 5 years for SC, ST, SEBC, and women candidates, and up to 10 years for PwD applicants.

Salary structure

• Principal: ₹67,700 per month
• PGT Posts: ₹47,600 per month
• TGT & Art Teachers: ₹44,900 per month
• PET & Computer Teachers: ₹35,400 per month

Selection process

The recruitment selection process comprises a Computer-Based Test (CBT) followed by an interview and/or performance test.

The CBT will include objective questions featuring a negative marking scheme of 0.25 marks for every incorrect response.

Part-I of the examination will test language proficiency in English and Odia and serves as a mandatory qualifying section.

Examination centers have been set up across major cities in Odisha, including Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Rourkela, Berhampur, and Sambalpur.
