NEW DELHI: The State Bank of India’s, CSR arm, SBI Foundation, has commenced the application process for its Platinum Jubilee Asha Scholarship.
This year, the programme will empower 23,230 meritorious students from humble and underprivileged backgrounds across India. As a continued effort to support the young minds of the nation, SBI commits Rs 90 crore towards scholarship in FY26.
The scholarship covers students from Class 9 onwards up to Postgraduate programmes, offering financial assistance ranging from Rs 15,000 to Rs 20,00,000 annually per year till the completion of course in which the scholar has been selected.
Categories eligible
- School students (Class 9–12)
- Undergraduate and postgraduate students at NIRF top 300 or NAAC A rated institutes or colleges
- Scholars at IITs and IIMs
- Students pursuing medical courses
- Students aspiring to study abroad
- SC/ST students pursuing master’s and higher education abroad at top 200 QS ranking universities
The application window will remain active till November 15, 2025. Students can apply via the official portal: sbiashascholarship.co.in.
Eligibility criteria
- Open for Indian nationals.
- Applicants must be studying in Classes 9 to 12 in the current academic year.
- Applicants must have secured 75% marks or above in their previous academic year.
- The gross annual family income of the applicants must be up to INR 3,00,000.
- There is a provision of 10% relaxation for students belonging to SC/ST (Percentage of marks – 67.50%, CGPA – 6.30).
- 50% of slots are reserved for females.
- 50% reserved for SC/ST (25% SC, 25% ST)
