New Delhi: The Union government has said that a decision on re-opening of educational institutions like schools, colleges, coaching centres will be taken in July. The restrictions will be lifted after consulting with authorities of state and union territories(UT’s).
The government order read, “In Phase II, schools, colleges, educational/ training/ coaching institutions etc., will be opened after consultations with States and UTs. State Governments/ UT administrations are being advised to hold consultations at the institution level with parents and other stakeholders. Based on the feedback, a decision on the re-opening of these institutions will be taken in the month of July, 2020.”
The Home Ministry will prepare the standard operating procedure for these institutions
On Saturday, the union government extended the lockdown in containment zones till June 30. However, it will allow reopening of some restricted activities outside the outside containment zones in a gradual manner.
