RRB Group D Exam 2025 Tentative Schedule Declared, Check The Details

NEW DELHI: The Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs) have released the tentative exam schedule for the Computer-Based Test (CBT) for various posts.

The examinations are likely to be held from November 17 and December 2025, a notification said.

The Indian Railways Group D recruitment drive includes various Level 1 positions across the Railways, for job-roles such as Track Maintainer Grade-IV, Assistant Pointsman, and technical assistants in departments like Electrical, Mechanical, and Signal and Telecommunication.

Candidates can view their exam city, date, and download travel authority for SC/ST candidates 10 days before the exam via the official websites of RRBs. The e-call letters will be available for download starting four days before the exam date.

In a bid to ensure smooth conduct of the examinations, Aadhaar-linked biometric authentication will be done for the candidates at exam centres. Applicants must carry their Aadhaar cards or produce e-verified Aadhaar during the entry to the exam centre.

For candidates yet to update Aadhaar, verification will also be accepted through UIDAI systems linked during the application process, mentions the notification.

Candidates who clear the computer-based test (CBT) will qualify for the next selection stage. The exam consists of 100 questions, has a 90-minute duration, and follows a negative marking system, where one mark is awarded for each correct response, and 1/3 mark is deducted for every incorrect answer.

The RRB Group D exam includes sections on Mathematics, General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Science, General Awareness, and Current Affairs.

Exam centers will be assigned based on candidates’ preferences, and once allotted, they cannot be changed.

Earlier, the RRBs have announced that over 1.08 crore candidates have applied for the Group D recruitment under notification CEN 08/2024. Notably, among the different regions as segregated by the RRB, Mumbai received the highest number of applications, with 15,59,100 (or 15.59 lakh) candidates applying.​ The RRB had earlier announced a total of 32,438 vacancies for these Group D posts.
