Bhubaneswar: After the start of the induction of girl students in one of the most prestigious Sainik schools of India, Sainik School Bhubaneswar is now planning to increase the number of seats for girls.
General Officer Commanding (GOC), Central India Lt Gen S Mohan on Friday said that the school is all set to increase the number of girl cadets in the coming days.
The Sainik School in Bhubaneswar began admission of girl students in the first phase for the current academic session 2021-22.
GoC Lt Gen S Mohan visited the school on Friday, interacted with the students and also shared his experience to motivate the young cadets to realise their duty for the nation. Lt Gen S Mohan also inspired the future generation to join the defence forces.
“Sainik School in Bhubaneswar is one of the oldest Sainik schools and has produced several soldiers, air warriors and sailors who have reached commanding heights,” Lt Gen Mohan said while addressing the students and teachers.
Speaking on the developmental plans in the school, Lt Gen said, “Approval to set up 100-bed girls hostel has been granted to Bhubaneswar’s Sainik School.”
