School In Eye Of A Storm Over GK Question On Kareena & Saif Ali Khan’s Son

Bhopal: Class 6 students of a private school in Madhya Pradesh came across a strange question in their exam.

In the general knowledge (GK) paper of term-end exam of Academic Heights Public School in Khandwa, students of class 6 were asked to write the full name of Bollywood couple Kareena Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan’s son, timesnownews.com reported.

It prompted the state’s Education department to issue a showcause notice to the school after local parents-teachers’ body demanded strict action and several netizens raised objections, some of them even sharing a copy of the question paper on social media platforms.

“After getting a reply from the school, further action will be taken as per the directives of higher authorities,” said Education department official Sanjeev Bhalerao said.

School authorities said the question should be seen as an effort to enhance students’ knowledge. The state official, on the other hand, opined that students should be imparted the kind of education that enhances their knowledge in the interest of the nation.

The school’s Director Shweta Jain informed that the question papers are set by a Delhi-based organization, with which the school is affiliated.

She claimed none of the parents have made a complaint so far and felt it was wrong to associate the question with religion or communalism.

“It should be seen as an effort to enhance knowledge,” she remarked.
