Bhubaneswar: Maharashtra, Punjab and Manipur will reopen schools adhering to COVID-19 guidelines on Wednesday, January 27.
Schools and educational institutions in India had been shut for nearly 10 months since the Centre imposed a lockdown and other related restrictions in the initial phase of the pandemic.
Odisha, Delhi and Rajasthan are among the states and Union Territories (UTs) which have reopened schools after a number of infections came down.
India reported 9,102 new COVID-19 cases and 117 related deaths in the last 24 hours on Tuesday. This is the first time in months that the country’s daily COVID-19 tally was below the 10,000-mark.
