Supreme Court Refuses To Hear Students’ Petition Challenging JEE Advanced Eligibility

New Delhi: The Supreme Court refused to consider a few students’ pleas seeking accommodation of an extra attempt to appear for the JEE Advanced 2021 after having qualified JEE Mains 2021 in their third attempt.

The top court asked the petitioners to move representation before the authority concerned with their pleas.

According to the court, the authority at the Central government level shall consider deciding the same before the closing date of registration for JEE Advanced exam, reported Hindustan Times.

Joint Admission Board, JEE (Advance) Office Kharagpur, Kharagpur, West Bengal is the authority for JEE Advanced 2021.

As many as five students, who have qualified the JEE Main but are not eligible to appear in the JEE Advanced, filed the petition.

Candidates can appear for JEE Advanced in two attempts in two successive years within 2 years of completion of class XII if he or she is within top 2,50,000 candidates in the JEE Main. JEE Main can be attempted thrice.
