New Delhi: Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) Vice-Chancellor M Jagadesh Kumar said that a life-sized statue of Swami Vivekananda was set to be unveiled by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on November 12 via video conferencing, reported Hindustan Times.
In an official statement on Sunday, the VC said that the event will be “preceded by a programme on Swami Vivekananda,” followed by the unveiling of the statue at 6:30 pm.
Adding that the statue has been set up in the university campus with the support of JNU alumni, he described Vivekananda as “one of the most beloved intellectuals and spiritual leaders” of India. The VC also said that he “enthused the youth with his message of freedom, development, harmony and peace in India.”
