Chennai: An 11-member panel has been formed by the Tamil Nadu Higher Education Department on Saturday to advise on conducting University semester examinations. The committee was formed on the basis of guidelines issued by the University Grants Commission (UGC) with higher education department’s principal secretary at the helm.
“Universities under the aegis of the higher education department are not in a position to conduct the semester exams in view of the pandemic outbreak,” the order said.
The panel will make recommendations about semester examinations based on UGC guidelines.
The principal secretary to the Youth and Sports Welfare Department, Technical Education Commissioner, Secretary to the Tamil Development and Information Department are in the committee. The panel also comprises the Vice-Chancellors of Annamalai University, Anna University, Manonmaniam Sundaranar University, Alagappa University, Bharathidasan University, Tamil Nadu Physical Education and Sports University and Tamil University.
