Chennai: Tamil Nadu Chief Minister E Palaniswami announced on Tuesday that the schools will reopen for classes X and XII from January 19.
The chief minister said, via a statement issued here, that each classroom will have 25 students.
Students attending classes will be given vitamin and zinc tablets to boost the immunity levels of the students, the chief minister said in his order.
Palaniswami also said the state government’s decision was based on the parents’ suggestion regarding the reopening of schools. A total of 95 per cent parents had expressed in favour of reopening the schools.
