Technical Institutes Sharing Faculties Will Be De-Affiliated: AICTE

New Delhi: The All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE) has threatened disciplinary action against institutes who indulge in sharing of faculty among member institutes or outside.

In a circular issued to the state directorates of technical education and vice-chancellors of all universities, AICTE member secretary Prof Rajive Kumar said AICTE will be forced to withdraw approvals if allegations against the institutes are found true.

Sharing of faculty at two or more places simultaneously is not permitted. This hampers the quality of technical education and also a breach of the affidavit submitted to the AICTE while granting approval, the circular said.

AICTE, the letter said, has received information about some institutes offering courses in technical education after the extension of approval and running the programmes with shared faculties.

“The council shall initiate an enquiry on any such complaint and if found correct, shall initiate strong disciplinary action against the institute indulging in such practice, including withdrawal of approval,” the circular said.
