Hyderabad: The Telangana government has decided to start vaccinating students heading abroad for the higher studies besides taking the inoculation drive for high-risk groups on Monday.
The students will get the jabs on a priority based on their letters of admission. The Medical and Health department will prepare the guidelines in this regard shortly.
The decision brought a huge relief for the students contemplating taking admissions in foreign universities. With various countries opening up travel and other sectors after COVID restrictions, several Telangana students are looking to pursue higher studies abroad, reported news agency IANS.
Since COVID vaccination is set to be a major condition for travel and stay in countries like the United States, Canada, Australia and Europe, the Telangana government decided to launch the special drive keeping in mind the interests of the meritorious students.
It may be recalled that Gujarat and Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) in Mumbai have already taken the drives to vaccinate students heading abroad to pursue higher education.
