Lucknow: Lucknow University’s Academic Council has approved the setting up of a new faculty thereby upgrading Abhinavagupt Institute of Aesthetics and Shaiva Philosophy’s status. New courses from the next session were also approved by the council.
The Abhinavagupt Institute of Aesthetics and Shaiva Philosophy was constituted in varsity for research in Shaivism.
The university will now run a full-fledged paper on Shaiva Philosophy and Aesthetics in MA (Sanskrit) course and also conduct doctoral studies.
This is Lucknow University’s eleventh faculty. Others are arts, science, commerce, law, education, fine arts, engineering, Unani, Ayurveda and yoga and alternative medicine.
