New Delhi: The University Grants Commission (UGC) has invited the students for postgraduate (PG) scholarship 2020-21. Students can submit their fresh online applications as well as apply for renewals if they are already benefiting from the scholarship. Eligible students who want to apply for the scholarship have to do it before October 30.
The scholarship program has been divided into three parts —
1. PG scholarship for a single girl child:
There are 3000 scholarships for girl students who entered in the first year of PG courses.
The amount of fellowship is Rs 36,200 per annum for two years. There will be no additional hostel or medical expenses covered under this scholarship.
Girls students under the age of 30 years can apply for this scholarship. A Student with a PG degree under distance learning is not eligible for this scholarship.
2. Postgraduate scholarship for university rank holders:
First and second rank holders at the undergraduate (UG) level who have secured admission into any PG course will be eligible for this scholarship.
The amount is Rs 3,100 per month for two years only. Those who are pursuing their first PG degree will only be eligible for this scholarship.
The age limit for this scholarship is 30 years. A total of 3000 scholarships will be awarded under this scheme.
3. Postgraduate scholarship for professional courses for Scheduled Caste (SC) or Scheduled Tribes (ST):
This scheme will help socially backward students who are interested in doing a PG degree in professional subjects like engineering, management, pharmacy, etc.
The scholarship amount will be Rs 7,800 per month for the duration of the degree. For other courses, the amount of scholarship will be Rs 4,500 per month.
A total of 1000 scholarships will be disbursed under this scheme.
