Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh government will bear the entire expenditure of NEET topper Akansha Singh’s graduation level studies along with food and lodging, the state government spokesperson confirmed on Wednesday.
Akansha, a native of Kushinagar district of Uttar Pradesh, has scored 100 per cent marks in NEET 2020 examination but was awarded the second spot. Soyeb Aftab got the first rank.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also asked the chief secretary of the state to write to the officials concerned for declaring Akansha Singh as the NEET 2020 first-ranker jointly along with Odisha’s Soyeb Aftab.
Adityanath congratulated Akansha’s parents and family and called the NEET topper a role model for all girls. The CM said Akansha achieved her target through hard work and perseverance.
Akansha scored 720 out of 720 with 180 multiple-choice questions.
