UPSC Cancels Indian Economic Services Exam 2020, Cites ‘Zero Vacancy Reported’
New Delhi: The Central civil service authority, the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) is not holding the Indian Economic Services (IES) Exam this year citing no vacancy reported by the Ministry of Finance and Department of Economic Affairs.
The notification for the UPSC IES exam was expected to be released on June 10. However, the UPSC has decided to put a hold on it.
A UPSC official notice stated, “Indian Economic Service Examination, 2020 will not be held due to NIL vacancy reported for the Indian Economic Service by the Ministry of Finance (Department of Economic Affairs).”
Meanwhile, UPSC has already declared the UPSC Preliminary and Mains exam date. The UPSC Prelims exam 2020 will be conducted on October 4, while the Main exam will be on January 8, 2021.
