NEW DELHI: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has announced the schedule for Combined Defence Services (CDS) 1 Examination 2025.
The exam will be held on April 13, 2025 in three shifts.
Candidates intend to join the Indian Military Academy (IMA), Air Force Academy (AFA), Indian Naval Academy (INA), and Officers’ Training Academy (OTA) will appear for the exam being held in pen-and-paper format.
The UPSC will release the e-admit card for CDS 1 Exam 2025 on the last working day of the week before the examination. Candidates will be able to download admit card from the official UPSC website, upsc.gov.in using their registration credentials.
The selection process for UPSC CDS 1 2025 involves two stages. Applicants need to qualify the subject-specific papers based on their academic preferences.
SSB interview
Shortlisted candidates will proceed to the Service Selection Board (SSB) for an interview assessing their leadership potential, personality, and aptitude for defence services.
Candidates are not allowed to take the help of a scribe during the CDS examination. They are also prohibited to use calculators for answering objective-type papers.
The selected candidates will undergo training to join the defence forces in different capacities.
CDS exam pattern
The UPSC will provide four alternatives for the answer to every question. For every wrong answer, one third (0.33) of the marks assigned to a question will be deducted as penalty.
In case candidates give more than one answer, it will be treated as a wrong answer even if one of the given answers is correct and negative marking will apply for that question.
However, there will be no penalty in case no answer is given to a question.

Meanwhile, the UPSC has released the timetable for the CISF AC(EXE) LDCE-2025 examination, schedule to be held on April 27.
