Bhubaneswar: Tension mounted in the city as Utkal University students blocked the National Highway in protest against Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation’s (BMC) decision to shut hostels in view of the COVID-19 upsurge.
The protesters, including girls, sat on the National Highway and shouted slogans. They urged the civic body to revoke the decision.
The commuters had a harrowing time in reaching their destinations as vehicular communication was disrupted from Rasulgarh to Acharya Vihar and Rupali Square to Vani Vihar Chhak.
