Uttarakhand Govt Issues Fresh Guidelines For Remaining Board Exams, To Be Held From June 22-25

Dehradun: With just four days to go for the commencement of rest of the Board exams (June 22-25), the Uttarakhand education department on Wednesday issued fresh guidelines.

Secondary education director RK Kunwar made it clear that no education centre will be set up in containment zones of the state.

“Those students who are living in containment zones on the day of the exam, will be able to write the examination on a separate day,” the order stated.

Safety and hygienic measures will be strictly followed and social distancing will be maintained. Examinees entering the hall will be thermal screened and if the body temperature of any student is found to be higher than normal, he/she will be allowed to write the exam in a separate room the same day.

District police officials and chief medical officer have been asked to ensure arrangement of ambulances and police force at the examination centres.

The remaining Board exams were first rescheduled from June 20-23. But the Uttarakhand government changed the time table in the wake of its decision to keep everything shut in Dehradun on weekends.

“With everything closed in Dehradun, it would be difficult for teachers and students to reach the examination centres. So, we decided to change the dates. For now, as per the instructions of the central government, exam centres will not be set up in containment zones,” Kunwar was quoted as saying.
