New Delhi: The West Bengal government has joined hands with the Indian Institute of Management Calcutta (IIM Calcutta) to provide leadership training to 1,300 heads of government and aided schools batch-wise.
The ‘Leadership Development Programme’ — an initiative of the School Education Department under Paschim Banga Samagra Shiksha Mission (PBSSM) — is the West Bengal government’s proactive step towards focused intervention in 1,300 schools in the state for a better outcome.
State education minister Bratya Basu and other dignitaries also graced the occasion.
Joint Programme Director, Prof. R Rajesh Babu, said the leadership development project is scheduled to be organised in small batches in December 2021 and January 2022.
“Their role is critical in transforming the life and experience of their students, fellow teachers, and the community. Empowering and motivating the Head of Schools to take the lead and be the change agent for their school is the key focus of this leadership development programme,” Prof Rajesh Babu was quoted as saying by Careers360.
