Kolkata: The West Bengal Madhyamik (Class X) and Higher Secondary (Class XII) examinations under the state-run boards will be conducted in June 2021. The exams have been postponed due to the outbreak of COVID-19.
The government has acceded to the requests from both the boards that conduct these examinations in West Bengal. The government has asked them to go ahead with their proposed schedule, state education minister Partha Chatterjee said on Wednesday.
The final timetable will be made public soon, the minister said. Once the Madhyamik is completed in June 2021, the Higher Secondary examination will be held soon after that and might continue till July.
The West Bengal Board of Secondary Education (WBBSE) conducts the Madhyamik examination and the West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education conducts the Higher Secondary or Uchhya Madhyamik.
