NEW DELHI: The Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee (IIT-R), will close the defect rectification window for GATE 2025 candidates on March 15.
Candidates whose applications have been marked with discrepancies need to correct them by the deadline, else the results will be withheld.
“The provisional/marked as defect candidates’ defect rectification is now open till March 15, 2025. These candidates must log in through the GOAPS portal and correct the issues to avoid their results from being withheld,” an official notification said.
Candidates need to go to goaps.iitr.ac.in, in order to correct any issues pointed out in their application forms. Except for the “category” field, changes to all other details will be allowed. Additionally, any mismatches found during the counselling session can lead to the withholding of the candidate’s result.

According to the schedule, the GATE 2025 results will be released on March 19. Candidates may verify their scores on the official websites gate2025.iitr.ac.in and goaps.iitr.ac.in.
Exam details
The GATE 2025 scorecard will have individual section-wise marks, overall score, and All India Rank (AIR). Only candidates who clear the cut-off will get their official scorecards.
The exam was held from February 1 to 16, 2025, on 30 different test papers in various disciplines. A valid GATE 2025 score can be utilised for admission into Master and direct PhD programmes in engineering, technology, architecture, science, commerce, arts, and humanities, and Doctoral programmes in related streams, sponsored by the Ministry of Education and other government organisations.
