New Delhi: All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Delhi has moved up rapidly in the rankings of the best medical schools in the world. According to a recently published list by CEOWorld magazine, the iconic medical institute of the country bagged the 23rd spot with a score of 86.38.
The AIIMS had such a sharp rise in the rankings that it moved ahead of the hallowed institutions like the Oxford University Medical School and the University of Cambridge School of Clinical Medicine.
The US-based Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine took the top spot with the highest score of 99.06, followed by Harvard Medical School (98.13), Perelman School of Medicine (96.75), and NYU Grossman School of Medicine (96.53).
UK’s Oxford University Medical School achieved a score of 86.02 to get the 24th spot, followed by Cincinnati College of Medicine (85.08) and University of Cambridge School of Clinical Medicine (84.96).
More Indian medical schools made it to the coveted list with Pune-based Armed Forces Medical College at the 34th place with a score of 83.04 and Vellore’s Christian Medical College grabbing the 49th spot with a score of 80.83.
Also, JIPMER in Puducherry is ranked 59th while Medical College Chennai is 64th and IMS BHU Varanasi at 72nd position.
