Kolkata: The Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur (IIT-K) is offering free online courses on Internet of Things (IoT), conducted through the National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning (NPTEL) by Professor Sudip Misra, at Department of Computer Science and Engineering (IIT Kharagpur), reported The Better India.
Topics and aspects covered in the course:
- Aspects like Introduction to IoT, use of sensors, actuators and machine to machine.
- Introduction to programming languages like Python and Raspberry Pi.
- Topics like cloud computing, fog computing, smart cities, connected vehicles, smart grid and industrial IoT.
- Agriculture, Healthcare and Activity Monitoring case studies.
Interested candidates have to register and submit their applications on the NPTEL website by January 25, 2021. Undergraduates and postgraduates with basic computer language knowledge, and pursuing engineering in computer science, information technology, electronics and communication engineering, electrical, industrial and instrumentation, may apply.
The course is free and will run for 12 weeks, from January 18, 2021, to April 9, 2021, but NPTEL examination will be conducted on April 14, and for the certificates Rs 1000 will be charged from the candidates.
