Jamia Milia Islamia To Organise Online Placements Amid COVID-19 Lockdown
New Delhi: The University Placement Cell (UPC) of Jamia Milia Islamia will soon conduct an online placement drive for students of various undergraduate, post-graduate and diploma courses amid the nationwide lockdown to contain the spread of coronavirus.
Acting on the directions of the Vice-Chancellor Najma Akhtar, the UPC has developed an automation platform to smoothly conduct the placement drives.
While educational institutes in the country are closed, many companies have adopted work-from-home models for its employees, and extending internships and job offers based on their requirement.
Companies such as Amazon, Byjus, Bloombrain, Connect2Survey, RTDS, Hiretek, Sterlite, DataMark, NIIT Ltd., Samsung Display, Hundred Plus, YSkool, Dark Phoenix Studios (MO ON TV), E-vision technoserve, Havells, Peacock Solar, etc have shown interest for the online placement drives, reported UPC.
Earlier, the varsity organised its placement drive last semester prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, wherein 52 companies extended 257 job offers to the students.
Microsoft offered the highest package of Rs 41 lakh to a B.Tech (Computer Sciences) student in the placement drive.
