Bhubaneswar: Mridul Agarwal from Jaipur topped the JEE Advanced 2021 while a total of 41,862 candidates qualified in the examination for admission to top tech institutes of the country.
Agarwal’s 96.66 per cent is the highest ever percentage in the history of the JEE Advanced.
Delhi girl Kavya Chopra, who scored 99.97 per cent, topped in the female candidates’ category. She had also scored a perfect 300 marks in the JEE Main and was the first girl to do so.
The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur, which conducted the test in 2021, announced the results on October 15. About 1.5 lakh candidates took the JEE Advanced 2021, out of which there are about 6,452 are female candidates.
The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) will start the process for seat allotment and counselling from October 16. The seat allotment result for the first round will be announced on October 27, while the second-round result will be declared on November 1.
The seat allotment will be done for admission into the IITs, National Institutes of Technology (NITs), Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs), Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology (IIEST) Shibpur and other government-aided technical institutions.
