Bangalore: The Supreme Court (SC) on Friday allowed the National Law School of India University (NLSIU), Bengaluru, to conduct its own entrance examination on September 12.
However, results can’t be announced and admission process won’t be started without the court’s approval.
The SC was hearing a petition challenging the decision to hold the National Law Aptitude Test (NLAT) filed by former NLSIU Vice-Chancellor Prof. Venkata Rao.
NLSIU had earlier announced that it will not accept Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) 2020 scores for admission to different programmes offered by the university due to the repeated postponements.
“If NLSIU is unable to complete admissions before the end of September 2020, it will inevitably result in a ‘Zero Year’ with no admission.”
The online enrollment process for the examination began on September 3 and closed on September 10.
