Hyderabad: Schools and colleges in Andhra Pradesh will reopen in phases from November 2.
Classes 9 to 12 will restart first, followed by classes 6 to 8 from November 23, it was announced on Thursday.
Schools and colleges have been asked to take half-day classes on an alternate day basis, to begin with.
“Schools and colleges will be opened in the state from 2nd November. Classes for 9, 10, 11, and 12 will commence from 2nd Nov. Classes for 6, 7, and 8 will start from 23rd November. Classes will be held for half-day only and on alternate days only,” read a statement released by the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister’s Office.
The Andhra government had earlier instructed schools, colleges and other educational institutes to reopen from October 5. But that had to be shelved following the Union Home ministry’s guidelines and a spike in COVID-19 cases.
