London: The education secretary of the United Kingdom, Nadhim Zahawi declared that the country will adopt several measures to include the climate change issue into its education system.
Zahawi made the announcement, aimed at empowering children to protect and save the Earth, during a speech at the 26th United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP26) recently.
Zahawi’s speech on November 5 had announcements of several measures. The teachers will be guided to educate children with world-leading education concerning climate change through a model science curriculum that will be ready by 2023, reported The Telegraph India.
The children will be taught about nature and the urgent need to protect it.
“Our National Education Nature Park and Climate Leaders Awards will let pupils get hands-on experience of understanding, nurturing and protecting the biodiversity around them,” the education secretary said in his speech.
