Bhubaneswar: The School of Communications, XIM University, hosted an interactive virtual media conclave Xemplify 2021 on November 13.
The theme of the event was Countering Digital Hatred: The Need for Critical Literacy. Dean, School of Communications, XIM University, Dr V Vijay Kumar addressed media students, faculty from various institutions across the country and delivered the welcome address.
During his inaugural address, Chief Finance Officer, XIM University, Dr Fr. V Arokiyadass, highlighted on the present scenario of the media world in the age of information technology and how critical literacy can counter hatred on the digital sphere in contemporary times, according to a press release.
‘The pad girl of Odisha’ Dr Priyanka Mohanty, also a well-known name in the medical profession, along with social media content creator and fashion blogger, Srishti Nadhani expressed their views on cyberbullying, their personal trysts with digital hatred and how women in specific can experience it in different forms.
Around 100 enthusiasts took part in the conclave from across the country.
